Some months ago Sharda Nuboer ran over a pedestrian. She did not stop, but drove to her home and only later turned herself in to police and was detained. She was being charged of fatally injuring the pedestrian while DUI and driving a car with dark tinted windows. Prosecution prolonged her detention, after which a judge of instruction had her released. The public prosecutor's office appealed the decision and Nuboer was once again detained, but released once more on September 12.   Prosecution had requested 15 months jail time based on charges of causing a fatal accident while DUI and driving in a car that had dark tinted windows. Recently the court announced the judge decided to let Nuboer walk. He said that there was not enough proof in the police file that can indicate that Nuboer had intentionally caused the accident. What the judge did however recognize were the charges that the driver was DUI, she was riding a car of which the windows are too dark and also was driving a car that did not hold a valid technical inspection certification. She was sentenced to an Afl. 600 fine.
