Prime Minister Mike Eman has provided for twelve young Aruban women and men to travel to Washington, D.C. and visit landmarks and experience the life in U.S.A.'s capital up close. The adolescents traveled to Washington, D.C. on Saturday to participate at a program including lectures on the government, the constitution, the judicial system and the democracy in general.
“Washington breathes an ambiance of public service, dedication of personal talents for the wellbeing of the country," Prime Minister Eman expressed. Eman believes in the detrimental role of the youth in Aruba's future, as the island's guiding force and he continuously seeks development possibilities for them.
The program called "Close Up" is realized through cooperation from the University of Aruba and the private sector.
University of Aruba professor Luciano Milliard prepared the 12 delegates for the trip with a workshop on the U.S. Constitution.
Prime Minister Eman expressed that, although costly, he wishes for more of these types of missions to be realized.
