Hundreds of merry people took a dip at MooMba Beach

The third edition of the Unox Nieuwjaarsduik was a blast: hundreds of happy people, all wearing an Unox hat, ran into the ocean at MooMba Beach to welcome the new year in a refreshing way. Guided by Cool FM’s Rico Rijk and Alex Ponson, the count-down on January 1 was exactly at noontime. After that the run into the ocean was on and drops of sweat mingled with the salty water. At 10 am the fun started with a live transmission of Cool FM, which got everyone into the right, happy mood.

At 11 am Dwayne Wever took the stage and he charmed countless ladies into joining him in a rousing zumba class. Man, that guy is good! And then it was dipping time – with a sturdy bowl of Unox pea soup as its reward. Photos show the excellent ambiance at MooMba Beach, where the year started off really great.
