 Saturday's Torch Parade recorded over 6400 participants and eight groups. The Torch Parade is traditionally the first parade of the season. Through the years the torches have been replaced by LED lights and battery powered hair accessories, earrings, drinking cups, etc. that light up. Fun was had by all. The 2013 Carnaval period is fairly short, ending on February 12.
